Woman assaulted with fishing poles on Marshall Street

As discussed during the dispatch call, officers responded to a domestic-related assault complaint near the 1400 block of Marshall Street in Benwood. A caller reported that a man spit in her face and hit her with fishing poles, then walked away down the street wearing a blue shirt and carrying fishing poles. The caller later said the man was not her son and identified him by name. Officers checked the area but apparently did not find anyone matching the description and planned to speak further with the caller, possibly near the Riverfront area.
