Issued at 12.20 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time Thursday. Heat index values up to 104 expected. Areas affected include portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and central, northern, southern, and western West Virginia. The hazardous weather can be expected from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight time Thursday. Impacts, hot temperatures, and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. To reduce risk during outdoor work, take frequent breaks and shaded or air-condition environments.
