Impacts, hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The current time is 10.26 p.m. Central Daylight Time. Now here is the hazardous weather outlook for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas. For tonight, weather hazards expected, limited lightning risk. Limited excessive rainfall risk discussion, isolated thunderstorms will persist for 11 p.m. across central Missouri, generally east of Highway 65. The main potential hazards will be frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall. A few storms may also produce wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour. And now the extended outlook for the period Sunday through Friday. The dangerous heat will continue through at least Tuesday with highs generally in the midnights and heat index values from 100 to 107 each day. A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday. There is a 10 to 20% chance for afternoon thunderstorm Sunday. The main potential hazard will be frequent lightning. There is a 20 to 40% chance for thunderstorms at times during the middle to end of next week as a cold front moves into the region.
