Florida law enforcement officers pursued a suspect on foot after the suspect abandoned a vehicle near the Chevron gas station on Newberry Road. The suspect was eventually captured near Motel 6 by Interstate 75. At the same time, a separate domestic violence incident was reported at the Red Roof Inn where a man assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her neck. Children were present and safe at the scene of the domestic incident. The suspect in the foot pursuit was taken into custody by authorities.
