Abandoned van and possible DUI crash on Covington

As discussed during the dispatch call, officers responded to a black Mercedes van abandoned in the middle of the road near Covington Way in Goleta. Two males reportedly ran from the vehicle and hid a backpack before heading toward a nearby school. A caller later reported it may have been a single-vehicle collision involving a possible DUI driver, potentially linked to a residence on Camino Talavera. One person was taken into custody.
