Severe thunderstorms with hail and strong winds in South Dakota
Emergency Information A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 7.30 a.m. Central Daylight Time, or 6.30 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time for Western Edm. Northwestern Hand, northeastern Sully, Northern High, Western Falk, Potter, Northeastern Dewey and Wawart counties. At 7 a.m. Central Daylight Time, or 6 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lake-Itenwood Rec area to near Lebanon to 7 miles south of Cottonwood Lake near Agar, moving east at 35 miles per hour. Hazard, 70 miles per hour wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Source, trained weather spotters. At 6.15 a.m. Central daylight time, 75 miles per hour wind gust was reported 9 miles east of Mission Ridge. Impact, hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expects considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. These severe storms will be near, Hoven, Java, Lebanon, and Stone Lake around 7.05 a.m. Central Daylight Time. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Baudel, Tolstoy, Seneca, Onaka, and Hosmer. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building, and away from windows.
