UPDATE suspect firing a rifle out the front of the residence. Civilians including children caught in crossfire between deputies and suspect. Deputies trying to get them out of there safely, but shots are continuous. No civilian injuries or casualties. One duputy shot in the foot. Called in Rankin SWAT for backup.

Deputy was called out for welfare check. when he arrived The front door was open and soon as deputy stood in the doorway, two shots were fired from inside the home. The bullets did hit the officer, but did not penetrate his vest. Scene still active.
