Safety procedures for airshow at Wittman Regional Airport

audio iconEmergency Information
Wittman Regional Airport, 525 W 20th Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902
Apparently that's been working very well. So it takes some time to familiarize yourself with that stuff if you're not. I'm going to put out a group text here for at least one person or every crew here in a second. That'll be backup comms in case of radio failure. First rotation this morning, make sure we get vehicle checks and arc checks done in everything in the Ladtech. Airport closure. Airport closure in the evening hasn't been really well communicated by the tower every day. So I know at least a couple times Car 14 has actually called the tower to verify if it was closed a little bit after 8 o'clock. So don't leave your positions until we verify the airports closed tonight. Everyone be aware of the new airport airshow directive put out by the chief. couple days ago, ARF units at positions three and four. I repeat, ARF units at positions three and four, that doesn't include the men unit and doesn't include positions one and two, will be dressed and in the truck with engines running during the duration of the airshow. We have to satisfy a 60 second response time in the air box. We tried it the other day and there is no way to do it without that, without maintaining ourselves in that position. We may have a 60-second drill today. My guess is it'll be right before the air show as soon as the Airbus takes over the space. If we do do that, I'll be the one calling it. Just respond to the area given as quickly and safely as you can, and the clock will be running and we'll run it and see what happens. So, like I said, respond quick and safe. And that will most likely be just positions three and four, or to follow. Grass 114 should be back soon. (name withheld) found an issue that he fixed and everything is testing out. So again, we should be able to kind of get back into our regular daily rhythm when we get that back. At that point, we'll decide if we're going to take the grass rig out to engine 318 or not. More to follow. And last but certainly not least, please, please, I beg you. to use spotters, mirrors, everything at our disposal to make sure we're moving trucks around properly. I just had a big long talk with C1 and C2, and there will be discipline from here on out if trucks running the things and policies weren't followed. Just putting it out there, do what you want with it. But please do what we're supposed to be doing. Any questions from anybody? I just forget one big thing. There is a significant amount of pyro today. No drones, no fireworks tonight or anything like that, but there is going to be a lot of pyro on the field for various air show events. So just understand that. We'll try to text out the pyro map as we get it and keep you guys informed, but just understand there will be deck cord and dynamite and gas bombs out there soon enough. So, motorfollow. Other than that, if there are no more questions, or no more questions for the group anyway, reach out to be individually if you need it, or reach out to (name withheld) and Car 17 if you need it. Thanks for everything. Thanks for getting through the morning this far. We'll go from there. Thanks, everybody. Get back into your normal radio channels. Do you have a couple, 20?
