Wildland Brush Fire Near I-40 Eastbound at Mile Marker 145

Summary: A small wildland brush or grass fire was reported near I-40 eastbound at mile marker 145, on the south side of the freeway, east of a casino and near the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Multiple fire units, including Engine 66, Engine 14, and support from AIFR, responded to the scene. The fire was visible from the freeway, with black smoke reported towards the jail. Access was advised from South Frontage Road. Responders coordinated to bring in a brush truck and established fire control, ultimately containing the fire with no escalation reported.
