Don't assume a self-inflicted gunshot wound is an attempt to end the person's life. Many people end up shooting themselves in the hand or arm when cleaning firearms because they don't follow the rules and safety checks before starting to clean them. It even happens to cops. There are a lot more examples I could go into like one particular brand and model of pistol that police actually carried for quite some time but just go off whenever it felt like it even if it was in the holster where there was no access to the trigger. There are plenty of videos on YouTube of officers getting out of their car and walking into the station carrying stuff with both arms and you can see the gun golf in their holster and put a round in their leg. In the event this person tried to end at all, that is unfortunate and it is one of the ways you are guaranteed not to go to heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
