Police pursue shoplifting suspect near mall

Police are responding to a report of a shoplifter near the mall. Officers spot a man running through the parking lot by the bus loop and then heading uphill toward the upper level of the mall. He is described by his clothing and accessories and appears to be in his late twenties. Officers think he may have jewelry in his pocket. The man runs across Walden Avenue and toward the entrance to the eastbound highway while officers track his movements on foot and by vehicle.
