Man reportedly carrying kitchen knife contacted by police

Police were sent to the Fitchburg and Genowen area after a caller reported a man who might be carrying a kitchen knife. The caller said the man denied having the knife but may have walked out with it and still had it on him. The man was believed to have left in a gray Chrysler car without license plates. Officers later found him at the back of his residence, where he was wearing layered jackets, black jeans, and red and white shorts. The man, identified in the call as (name withheld), was reported to have a history of psychosis and was refusing voluntary treatment. Officers made contact with him at the home.
