Thank You to Our Community and Our Partners,
NOCFA and our mutual aid partners responded to a significant house fire near Fish Lake Road and Tinsman Road at approximately 8 p.m. last night. The size of the home, its distance from the roadway, and the substantial water requirements presented significant challenges. Crews worked together for hours, shuttling water to the scene by tanker to sustain firefighting operations.
The homeowner and all pets are safe, and no responders were injured. While we are grateful for that, our thoughts are with the family as they face a devastating loss.
We extend our sincere thanks to our fire service partners: Holly Village, Groveland Township, Springfield Township, Fenton City, Fenton Township, Linden, Grand Blanc Township, Atlas Township, Highland Township, White Lake Township, and Brandon Township. Your personnel worked alongside ours as one team, providing the staffing, equipment, water supply, and support this demanding response required. We recognize that sending help also places demands on your own departments and communities, and we do not take that commitment for granted.
Thank you also to our law enforcement partners for your assistance and support. Your contributions were an important part of the overall response, and we appreciate working alongside you.
To the residents who came out to offer help and provided drinking water and refreshments for our responders: thank you for taking care of our crews. Your kindness and generosity made a difference during a long and difficult night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
As we recognize everyone who helped, please remember the family at the center of this incident. We ask our community to respect their privacy, avoid speculation, and refrain from sharing photos or videos of the family or their home. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Regards,
Chief Matt Weil
