Elderly man reported missing from Mesa residence

E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204

An elderly man left his home in Mesa around 9:15 a.m. and did not arrive at his scheduled pickup. His phone was later found in a shed at the residence. He is described as about 84 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 168 pounds, with light brown thinning hair, wearing a flannel shirt. He usually drives himself to appointments and has no history of getting lost. He was last seen driving a white 2014 Dodge Journey. A short time later, officers were sent to a bus stop at the northwest corner of Southern and Val Vista for a report of an elderly man with a walker who looked confused and had been staring into the road for several minutes. Officers believed this person might be the missing man and went to check if it was the same individual.
