this is very sad and pathetic. This is not just a modern problem. This is a parent problem. A child cannot even get a hunting license.Much less shouldA four year old be playing with guns. People having children should have to have a license to do so , just like if you wanna go fishing , d***!

I believe this family is going through the most horrific thing that you people would never understand!!!! Give them your support and sympathy and prayers at this time!! If you can’t don’t say anything!!!!

You are absolutely right! Most of us feel very bad for this family. I have said a few prayers for both the little one and for the family. We were not being mean or disrespectful. We were just sharing that we don't believe it was the issue of him having a firearm. Sadly the Lil guy hadn't been told to never touch. Most of us shared our lived experiences having our firearms around our children. I am sorry it sounded insensitive or accusatory...it was not meant to.

My children had taken there hunter safety course by age 7. My children didn't have toy guns and couldn't pretend shooting with a stick. They were always told, don't point at anything you don't intend to shoot. This is a sad situation...if you're going to have guns around your kids, you constantly teach them. Children need to know what death is by an early age. They need to know it's not like gaming, you don't come back to life.

My husband taught hunter safety classes for 30 years and not a single student had anything such as an accident. He taught thousands so that tells me kids need education, if nothing else let dad teach them. At any rate, a child this young, don’t lay your gun anywhere a curious little guy can touch it.

Wow..I bet that could have gone wrong so many ways 😉. That is really cool that he did that! Not to many people realize you need to put time into kids. Thank him for me..he imprinted so many kids . Hunter safety teaches respect, patience, awareness and so many valuable skills 👏

I am wondering why the boy wasn’t still locked in a child seat. He wouldn’t have been able to touch the seat if secured to a child seat.

I was wondering that myself. But truly, why would you lay your Glock in close proximity to a curious 3 or 4 year old. I mean it was bothering him to have it in his waist band and because he was careless dad has to see that picture every day of his life.
