NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 23, 2026 On October 22, 2026, at approximately 2312 hours, the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential fire in Clarkton, Missouri. Fire departments from Clarkton, Malden, and Campbell responded to assist with fire suppression efforts. The fire resulted in one fatality. Four additional occupants were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. The incident remains under investigation by the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office. We thank all responding agencies for their assistance, as well as those who provided water to emergency personnel at the scene.
