I agree they really should .If they are on any public assistance, Foodstamps social services, money for help for kids supposedly which they use on drugs so yes, they should be tested for drugs and if on drugs, they should lose all assistance.

There’s gotta be some 3 strike rule for use or forced rehabilitation. Anything like littering needles should be instant jail time. Court ordered rehabilitation and medication should be enacted for those who can’t get clean, have tried and need outside intervention because it’s technically self harm. If you went to a hospital and said “I’m cutting myself every day” they’d involuntarily commit you. I’m betting it was opioids and they have an medication via injection that lasts 28 days, blocks the effects and makes you sick if you try to use them; which they should really consider making the standard. One injection, 28 day duration where it physically impossible to feel anything other then worse if they’re used. It wouldn’t be some drive through “Next!” situation but therapy too.
