Apartment fire on second floor of complex

Fire crews responded to a working fire in a two-story apartment building near Wickham Street. Flames were visible from the second floor in the middle of the complex. Multiple engines arrived, pulled hose lines, and made entry to attack the fire from the front and rear. Power lines near the scene were arcing, so units were warned to use caution and the power company was requested. Water was put on the fire and the main flames were knocked down. Crews opened the attic and checked neighboring apartments and their attics. Primary and secondary searches of the second floor were completed, and one dog was removed from the building. A fire investigator and animal control were requested to the scene.
