Small plane crashes near Veterans Memorial Bridge in Rochester Traffic 08/01/2025 10:51 AM (PDT) Veterans Memorial Bridge, Rochester, NYKE2CJL, just got word on the radio of a confirmed plane crash Maplewood Drive, Veterans Memorial Bridge, and Rochester. Confirm plane crash, Veterans Memorial Bridge in Rochester. I just got word over the radio. If anybody's out that way, steer clear. Thanks for the info there, my friend, just heard it on the scanner as well, so, yep. if they want the hazmat team. Apparently it's a small plane crash, like one of those paper cubs or something like that, over? All right, very good job. Yeah, I didn't get word of what kind of aircraft it was, but yeah, hopefully injuries are minimal to, you know, to save the least. But let's hope for the best. But anybody in the area, I just figured I'd spread the word. in case anybody's traveling in that area. I appreciate your information there, sir. Good to hear buzz there as well, even though I'm at home right now. Yeah, I don't have to go that direction, but thank goodness. But, yeah, a lot happening there in the city lately. Good grief after last night and found this. Wow. All right, catch you later. Have a good rest of your day there, sir. Nice to hear you out there, and I hope mom is doing good. This is KG2, PCHP. I appreciate the thoughts there, (name withheld). Mom's getting better every day. Before you run, though, what was the fire last night? Dewey and Lyle. What... Former Tent City building? Was it like one of the homeless encampments? Is that what I mean by Tent City? Or was that the name of the business? I guess that was quite a fire last night. W-R-2-A-H-L Repeater. Yeah, that was the name of the former business that closed there in 1999, Tent City, right across the street from Sparky's Radio and... and car shop where he did car stereos, C.Bs and all kinds of other stuff over the years. He used to sell scanners, cell phones, right across the street from his place there. And right on my island Dewey there. Yep. That was the old Ted City. They used to sell camping supplies and all kinds of stuff, five-story brick building, business loaded with stuff, I guess. I don't know, they were going to convert it into veterans' apartments or something there. And it looks like the building next door to it, to the north of it caught pretty good too. So, yeah, it was a big fire. It was very, very lengthy, and they're still there as we speak. Of course, now some of the resources are being drawn to the incidents over during the bridge, but unbelievable stuff. That's been happening this last couple days here, good grief. You just never know, that's for sure. All right, I'll let you go for now. And, yeah, keep us updated. If you hear anything, I'll keep people updated as well if I hear anything over the scanner. So 7-3 and enjoy the day, my friend, and hopefully we'll catch you down the log here later on. This is KD2. PQP. Very good, very good. Yeah, and I was just reading too for the foreseeable future. Do we have from Bloss Street to Lylev will be closed? Lylev at Broad Street will have no eastbound traffic, and then Lylev at the parkway will have no westbound traffic. So that might put a little pinch in somebody's commute there. So throwing that out there as well. All right, (name withheld), good to talk to you. Thanks for coming back to me, KD2PPP. This is KE2 CJL73 for now.
