Flash flood warning issued for areas in Middle Tennessee


The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a flash flood warning for South Eastern DeKalb County in Middle Tennessee, Northeastern Warren County in Middle Tennessee, White County in Middle Tennessee, until 4.30 a.m. central daylight time. At 12.30 a.m. Central daylight time, Dopular radar indicated thunderstorm, producing heavy rain across the worn area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the worn area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. FASERD, flash flooding caused by thunderstorm. Source, radar. Impact, flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and other passes as well as other poor drainage and low-lined areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Scarca, Doyle, Baker's Crossroads, Hapton's Crossroads, and Rock Island State Park. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood dams occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
