Student with alcohol illness at SDSU campus

Emergency medical staff responded to the San Diego State University campus for an eighteen-year-old woman who had been drinking alcohol with friends. She had been drinking from a bottle throughout the night, then lay down on the sidewalk, became less responsive, and began vomiting. Officers found her on the cold sidewalk and called for medical help. When medics arrived, she was responding mostly to pain, moaning, and actively vomiting. Her skin was cold and she showed mild signs of low body temperature, but her blood pressure, breathing, and blood sugar were within acceptable limits. Paramedics started an intravenous line, gave medication for vomiting, and used heat packs to warm her before transporting her to the hospital for further care.
