Man overdoses on psychiatric medications outside home

Emergency crews responded to a home in San Diego for a 22-year-old man who had reportedly taken too much of his psychiatric medication, including olanzapine, risperidone, and doxepin. He has a history of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. He was found passed out on a sidewalk but showed no signs of injury. There was no smell of alcohol, though his mother said he might have used marijuana. He was in and out of consciousness but awake and alert when assessed. His vital signs were checked, and he was placed in handcuffs in a police vehicle and then moved with soft restraints for safe transport to the hospital by Medic 9.
