Two-story home fire with one burn injury

Fire crews were dispatched to a two-story home near East Gwinnett Street and Waters Avenue in Savannah for a residential structure fire with heavy smoke and flames visible, especially on the second floor and a front bedroom. Multiple engines, a truck, rescue units, and a battalion chief responded, secured nearby fire hydrants, and attacked the fire while conducting primary searches of the main residence and a rear, second-story apartment where people were seen inside. Occupants were removed, apartments were checked and cleared, and the fire was brought under control and reported out. One person on the sidewalk was treated as a burn patient with second-degree burns to the right arm, and emergency medical services were notified for further care.
