Apartment smoke incident from cooking mishap

Fire crews responded to reports of possible smoke at an apartment building near Bent Tree Lane. An upper back apartment had its windows open and residents were initially thought to still be inside. Multiple fire units arrived, checked the multi-story complex, and found no active fire. The incident was traced to a cooking mishap in apartment 202 that produced some smoke, which the occupants had already aired out. All other apartments were checked and found clear, and crews stayed on scene until building maintenance arrived.
